A's, B's & C's vs PAC and D's vs Golden Grover R10

A Grade

The A grade were outplayed convincingly in their top of the table match up with PAC at Park 9 on Saturday.  Terrible skill execution and some poor decision making hampered us for most of the day and in the end became too much for us overcome.

We found enough of the football through the midfield but our entries inside 50 were not clean and played into PAC’s hands.

Sam Jonas at half back read the play well and took numerous marks, Will Mead played a good negating role and Jackson Sutcliffe in the ruck gave us first look. Paul Fantasia and Michael Coad both kicked 2 goals each.

Luke Manuel played his 150th game for the club and was one of our better players. Congratulations to Luke on a fantastic career so far and we look forward to watching him for many years to come.

We play Payneham away this week in another important game. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

B Grade

The B's ran out eventual 10 point winners against a dogged Prince Alfred Old Collegians : 9.5 TO 6.13 (Half time 7.2 to 2.6). Importantly the victory saw ROCS move into the top 5. Key forward Tom McCormack kicked 5 goals in a best on ground performance. "Jose" Tarca  and James Telfer continue to play well. Other very good players included Dylan Fitzsimons, Jack Draper and Josh O'Leary. The next outing is against Payneham Norwood Union (at Payneham) in what looms as a danger game for ROCS.

C Grade

On Saturday ROCS went frustratingly close to winning their away game against PAOC. In a match which could have gone either way, the final scores were ROCS 6.3 to PAOC 5.11 (Half time 3.2 to 3.3). Ruckman Justin McInerney was voted our best, and others to play well included the "Little General" Jarrod Varley, Jack Hill, Mick "Schlick" Aloisi and Riley Slack. Julian Tripodi (3 goals) was the best team man. In a tight competition, the team is now in fourth spot on percentage, and will have to re-group for this week's game against Payneham Norwood Union, at Payneham.

D Grade

ROCS had an important win at the Quarry against second-placed Golden Grove : 12.9 to 10.5 (Half time: 8.5 to 4.2). Anthony Cream (3 goals) continued on with his excellent form and was rated our best player. Next was Max Lawrance (3 goals) whose form has also been very good. Others to play well included Brodie Moore, Luke Skoblyk, skipper Paul "Chuck" Norris and Hamish Massie. Special mentions to stalwarts Simon Emanuele (2 goals), Jeremy O'Leary (2 goals) and Matt Sauer. This week the D's are away to Old Ignatians  (Park 25, 2.15pm). A ROCS win would go a long way to consolidating a top 3 spot.

Milestones :

Congratulations to Luke Manuel who played very well in his 150th game for the ROCFC.
